HDCP Closing Letter

A Message from the Handicap Committee
2024 Season Ending Report

MEMBERS AND FUNCTION

The committee consisted of four club members in 2024, Florence Marquis, Judy McDougall, Mel Reingold and Tom Worsley. Tom Worsley chaired the group this year and the team met as needed throughout the season.

Again, this year, the committee pulled the list of all entrants into the Match Play, the Club Championships, and the Derby to check and see that all participants entering these competitions had been posting scores and that their handicap index could be considered current. The few entrants found not to be compliant were identified to the event organizers and contacted to advise the corrections required to become eligible to compete.

COMMUNICATION

The committee has a section on the club website (under News and Events) where information can be found regarding updates or changes in score posting rules. We also have a bulletin board in the hallway between the Pro Shop and Locker Rooms where hard copies of the information are posted. In 2024 there were changes made to the World Handicap System posting requirements so we would encourage all members to familiarize themselves with the changes.

VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED

For 2025, two long serving members (and former chairpersons) of the committee will be stepping down. We would like to express our thanks to Florence Marquis and Tom Worsley for their time and contributions to the committee over the past number of years.

As a result of these resignations, the committee needs a couple of members to join for the 2025 season. If anyone is interested, please contact our club pro, Matt Hillhouse or either of the remaining committee members, Judy McDougall and Mel Reingold.

In closing, we would like to once again extend our sincere thanks to Matt Hillhouse and Paul Clarke for their support and assistance to the committee this season.

Respectfully,

Sleepy Hollow Handicap Committee
